Marble Mountain Resort

STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT & MARKETING PROGRAM

Marble Mountain Resort
CHALLENGE

As a destination resort, Marble partnered with local businesses and agencies to generate awareness and drive visitors to the region. Recent years had seen a decline in skier visits, endangering those partnerships.

UNDERSTANDING

While the resort is one of only two downhill options on the Island of Newfoundland, it is an eight-hour winter drive from the main population center, making the local market essential to the success of the resort. To be successful we not only had to get our fair share of skier visits, but also recruit new visitors to skiing and snowboarding.

INSPIRATION POINT

We first had to make sure our base, season pass holders felt connected to the ski experience and the mountain by reminding them of memories made there. Then we needed to speak to the broader local audience and combat the tendency to hibernate during the cold winter months.

RESULTS

Prior to the first season of our partnership, the main chair lift was destroyed by lightning, and was inoperable for the entire season. Despite this, Marble reached its business goals for season pass sales and lift ticket sales in both seasons that it worked with m5.
